Since the winter semester of 2021/22, it has been possible to study nursing in a full-time undergraduate program at the Ludwigsburg Protestant University of Applied Sciences on the basis of the amended Nursing Professions Act. This is the first time that this type of study has been regulated on a national level and will establish itself in the future as an academic nursing education. The course of study qualifies students to provide scientifically based nursing care for people of all ages in different living and residential situations. In addition to the ability to act independently in nursing practice, the focus is on the areas of counseling and support, learning nursing science methodology and the development of innovative care concepts. In each of the seven semesters, coordinated learning content must be completed in theory, in the exclusive skills lab and in cooperating nursing facilities. A total of 2300 hours of practical training take place during the course of study, which are rewarded with an internship allowance.
